Summer Movie Nights in Hendricks County

Family-friendly flicks in our local parks

Our local parks and recreation departments are well-known for providing safe  and engaging experiences for residents of all ages, and summertime is when they really shine! For years, families have been able to lay out a blanket in a local park, munch on popcorn, and enjoy a family-friendly movie together, and the tradition continues this year. Below is a list of dates and titles you can count on for fun together under the stars.



Hendricks County Parks (at W. S. Gibbs Memorial Park)

Friday, June 17: Clifford the Big Red Dog 

  • FREE, activities begin at 6:30pm, movie at 8:30pm
  • Adoptable dogs will be on-site, and attendees can experience a fire safety dog demonstration, learn about wild canines, and more!

Friday, July 15: Bee Movie 

  • FREE, activities begin at 6:30pm, movie at 8:30pm
  • Observe a live bee hive, purchase local honey, and learn about honeybees and native pollinators!
Washington Township Parks (at Murphy Aquatic Park)

Thursday, June 23: Moana 

  • $14/person, kids 2 and under FREE
  • Movie begins at 8:30pm, rated PG

Friday, July 8: Grown Ups 

  • $14/person; recommended for adults
  • Movie begins at 8:30pm, rated PG
Brownsburg Parks

Friday, June 10: Encanto 

  • Williams Park
  • FREE, movie begins at 7pm
  • PopAKernal will be on site selling popcorn, candy and drinks

Friday, August 19: Sing 2 

  • Arbuckle Park
  • FREE, movie begins at 7pm
  • PopAKernal will be on site selling popcorn, candy and drinks
Pittsboro Parks (at Scamahorn Park)

Saturday, May 21: Star Wars- A New Hope 

  • FREE, movie begins at 7pm

Saturday, June 18: Encanto

  • FREE, movie begins at 7pm
