Business Boss: Meet Rebecca Holloway!

AKA Queen Odonata The Dragonfly Fairy

By Kristin Fouts April 6, 2022

Questions and answers (and inspiration!) with Rebecca Holloway, owner and founder of Enchanted Fairy TrailsRebecca founded the company in 2018, and has been a fairy entertainer for more than 10 years. There are fairy trails and fairy stops all over Central Indiana; find a map here!

The mission of Enchanted Fairy Trails is "to enhance people’s lives through fun, inspiration, creativity, and self-expression! To entertain and encourage exploration of Indiana's nature, local businesses and art communities. To inspire whimsy through fairy adventures within Indiana."

1. What (or who) inspired you to start your business?

My children we're always looking for fun adventures to do on a family budget. We loved finding small businesses in our community, parks and trails and museums to keep active minds busy.

2. What do you love most about the work you do?

I love being able to bring fun adventures to families and fostering a sense of whimsy in a world that can sometimes forget to foster imagination.

3. What advice do you have for others wanting to start a business?

Do your research, know your market and find other supportive organizations and businesses to network with. It's a tough job but we build better communities when we support each other.

 4. What do you do to take care of yourself, and how do you make/find time to do it?

Finding down time can be hard but keeping tight schedules helps me make sure to carve out time for my family and for myself to re-energize and come back stronger.

5. What can we readers do to support you in the community?

Visit the trail and its Fairy Trail Stop host organizations and businesses, share with your friends and visit the Central Indiana Enchanted Fairy Festival as it is our main funding source and allows us to keep the Enchanted Fairy Trail a free family adventure.

Consider being a Fairy Trail Stop host! As a host you will become a member of over 50 hosts from all over Indiana. You will receive the following FREE from the Enchanted Fairy Trail.

  • Listing on Google Trail Map and social media announcements.
  • Spotlight post in our newsletter (over 1000 subscribers)
  • Enchanted Fairy Trail sign (provided by the trail) with QR code linked to a custom video created by me!
  • Enchanted Fairy Trail will post your submitted events/offers on Trail's social media.
  • One free one-hour visit from Queen Odonata the dragonfly fairy of the Heartland Fairies to officially open your stop on the Enchanted Fairy Trail.

As a Fairy Trail host stop, we only ask you welcome visitors and let us know when changes are made to the sign's location or if you decided to end your participation. Fairy stops can be just the sign we provide or you can make a fairy display. Some stops have a fairy garden in a potted plant or display a fairy house but you do what works for you.

6. What is your favorite spot to visit around Hendricks County?

Beasley's Orchard not only because they're the host of our Fairy Festival but the Heartland Apple Festival in October is fantastic as well as their year-round produce market that keeps us well supplied in the state's best apple cider.
