About me
I grew up in Central Illinois, the second child of two teachers. I walked to school, the playground, the pool, and just about all of my friends' houses. (My best friend lived on a farm about 2 miles outside of town, and I'd often ride my bike there.) That was the simplicity of life in a town of 1500 in the 1980s-90s. I'm older now, obviously, but still love the feel of a community where folks know and watch out for reach other, fun activities are just a short drive away, and I know and trust local business leaders. That's why we love Hendricks County!
My husband, Mike, and I have lived in Brownsburg for 10 years. We moved here from Kalamazoo, Michigan, but met in Wichita, Kansas. Here, we've had two boys (currently 4 and 6), and adopted a big but loving lab-mix, Ripley, from the Hendricks County Animal Shelter in February 2020. Both of us work full time in higher education-adjacent roles; him in property management, and me in leadership development.
Random notes: We love to camp (tent for now, camper TBD), hike, watch sports, and eat good food. We're fans of the Colts, Cubs, and Purdue Boilermakers. Our boys are into sports, Scouts, and superheros. My favorite color is blue and I'm an enneagram 6. Fun fact- I've never been outside the U.S.... someone give me a free trip! ;)
I subscribed to Macaroni Kid shortly after having our first son in 2016 and LOVED the updated calendar and the guides, especially. I am honored to take over this territory from our previous publisher, and look forward to exploring, experiencing new adventures, and passing along the very best and most useful insights to you!
