Have you ever wondered what it would be like to bite into a cloud? Go try a donut from the Rise'n Roll Bakery, opening in Avon this week!
Rachelle & James and their five kids are based in Plainfield. They knew the goodness of Rise'n Roll products from family get-togethers in northern Indiana. But when they visited the Rise'n Roll franchise that opened in Fishers last year--and left with a huge variety of baked and canned goods to try at home--they knew it might just be the sweet spot they were looking for in a business venture. Rachelle said she loved the style, and knew that it would be a unique market in Hendricks County.
Amish Tradition
Rise'n Roll started in 2001 when a young Amish couple started selling from their front porch baked goods from family recipes that had been handed down through generations. Their first store opened in 2004 in Middlebury, Indiana, and is still open today. The Rise'n Roll website says they are "Still doing things the 'old fashioned way,' and blessing customers, one at a time."
The Cinnamon Carmel Donut is their most iconic treat to try, glazed with carmel and dusted with enough cinnamon and sugar to feel like you're eating a cloud. (And watch out, because it can be addictive!)
More than donuts!
Rise'n Roll offers lots of Amish quality products--all made in northern Indiana. Besides a variety of delectable donuts, choose from baked goods such as freshly baked bread, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, apple fritters, sweet breads, cookies, and pies. Another famous treat to try is a nutty Candy Crunch, that can even be found as a topping on one of the donut varieties.
Notable when walking into the store is the "Jar Wall," where you can find butters, spreads, jams, jellies, pickles, and more. Other Amish goods offered are cheeses, rolled-butter, cheese spreads, egg noodles, baking mixes, and popcorn.
