Don't Let the Pigeon...Play at the Children's Museum without You!

Go See the Pigeon & Pals: A Mo Willems Art and Play Exhibit

By Krista Hershey February 27, 2020

Elephant and Piggie, the Pigeon, Knuffle Bunny, and even the naked molerats--all your favorite Mo Willems book characters are visiting Indianapolis during the winter and spring months this year. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is hosting the super cute exhibit, Pigeon and Pals, which includes activities for kids of all ages.

You and your kids will have fun whether or not you're familiar with Mo Willems books. But if your family reads the books as much as our family does, you'll feel a little starstruck visiting the play area.

Upon entering the exhibit room, the first thing your kids will want to do is pretend to drive the famous bus from Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.

Older kids and adults will enjoy the walls that are full of original illustrations and book drafts from the author.

Other activities include flinging hotdogs through hoops, spinning wheels too see how animation works, hearing your voice change to Elephant or Piggie's voices at a phone booth, stacking soft block monsters, tracing book characters on a light box, dressing and putting mole rats in a fashion show conveyor belt, and a lot more.

Pigeon and Pals (included with museum admission) is open through May 10, 2020.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis provided Macaroni Kid Hendricks admission to enter a Preview night of the Pigeon & Pals exhibit. All opinions of the exhibit are my own!
