There's a new playground in town--and it will be perfect for kids to play "town" in!
Featuring 35 different interactive activities, the brand new, colorful Tiny Tots Playground will help build developmentally appropriate skills for children ages 2-5.
This play area, located in Arbuckle Acres Park in Brownsburg between the large playground and Shelter 2, is made up of market building with a restaurant table, a house, and a fire engine. Kids will be able to crawl through tubes to the buildings and pretend to drive or ride in the engine.
Director Travis Tranbarger says it's important to the Brownsburg Parks staff that play features "aren't just fun but can help build children's sensory, motor, cognitive and social/emotional skills." The playground meets ADA requirements, which means its purpose is to meet kids of all abilities where they're at, and lets them imagine and play in lots of different ways.
"Children will be able to let their imaginations run wild with this new play feature, imagining themselves as firefighters, chefs - whatever image they can dream up!" added Assistant Director for Operations and Development Jonathan Blake.
Look for the new Tiny Tots playground to open mid-September at Arbuckle Acres in Brownsburg.
Brownsburg Parks says they will also soon begin work on another playground at the Outdoor Classroom, just north of Williams Park.
