Animal Tales at a Library Near You

Park Naturalists Lead Story & Crafts

By Krista Hershey August 1, 2019

I love events for my kids that are fun, local, educational, and free.

Hendricks County Parks is making the rounds to area libraries to read stories about animals native to Hendricks County. The stories are appropriate for kids preschool-aged through upper elementary. Each month a Park Naturalist reads a story, takes questions about the animal, and leads an activity or craft.

Check out the Macaroni Kid Calendar to see if you can make one of the events next week, which begin August's feature animal: tadpoles in Little Tad Grows Up. The next few months will cover monarch butterflies, crows, turkeys, and owls.

You can find the complete schedule and links to sign up at your local library on the Hendricks County Parks website. Be sure to register with your library ahead of time!
