While I wrap up the next few days scrambling, yet again, to help my child decide exactly WHAT he wants to dress as for Halloween, I pause, smile, and marvel at the awesome kiddo I have.
I'm generally am a person with gratitude in my heart -even when things get challenging. I wanted a LARGE reminder of all that I am thankful for. It was then that I recalled what one of my girlfriends had done and I decided to do the same thing ... and a gratitude pumpkin was born
Those that know me know personally know that it is a fact that I am not crafty. At all. My crafting heart is big but my crafting skills just do not match, and that is OK. When I saw this pumpkin I knew it was something that would not make the Pintrest Fail boards.
Supplies needed:
Pumpkin, any size - cleaned up and dried so you can write on it.
One sharpie (I used black)
What we did:
We sat around our table and took turns stating what we were thankful for - everything was noted (so, hot chocolate made the list as did screen time for the kiddo). We had fun noting all the things we appreciate and what's more, it was a nice basic exercise to give a large visual to what those items are. I have it displayed in my entryway for the weekend but will be putting it on the porch with my other pumpkins tomorrow. This is a family activity that we will likely keep around each year - and that I love. That it was inexpensive to do ... that I love even more!
