The Tie Dye Lab Has Something For Everyone

By Amber Conniff September 14, 2017

It’s 10:00 a.m. on a Tuesday, and your toddler says he’s ‘bored’. You’re sitting down to create
next week’s homeschool curriculum for your child, but you’re in a rut and looking for a new, fun
and educational field trip- not the same old thing you usually do. Can you relate? If so, not to
worry, because Hendricks County’s hottest new DIY spot, The Tie Dye Lab, has you covered!

Located in Avon, The Tie Dye Lab is exactly what the name implies- A place to use your
creativity and create a tie dye masterpiece. Upon arrival, you will be provided with all the tools
you need, from a variety of items to choose from, including short-sleeved and long-sleeved
shirts, bandanas, pillow cases, drawstring bags, hats, and towels. As an added bonus, The Tie
Dye Lab offers transferable logos of local schools so you can show off your creativity AND
school spirit! Next, you choose from several colorful dyes and are provided gloves to protect
your hands. There are even sinks for rinsing and a lounge area to hang out in and play games
while staff set your item and prepare it for the next step in the process!

The Tie Dye Lab’s latest endeavor is preschool story time. The story for the month of
September is If You Give a Dog a Donut, written by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia
Bond. Little ones will listen to this fun story of a dog and his backyard adventure, tie-dye a
bandana for their furry friend (or themselves) and enjoy donuts from Jack’s Donuts in Avon!
Preschool story time will be held on September 19th and 22nd and costs $15 per child. October’s
preschool story time will be Halloween-themed and the price may vary. To RSVP, check out
The Tie Dye Lab’s Facebook page here or contact them via Facebook messenger. You can also
RSVP via email to Carver@thetiedyelab.com.

Providing a variety of different opportunities to the community is a passion of co-owner Terri
Fisher. In that spirit, The Tie Dye Lab is developing several events geared toward the home
school community. These events will include subjects such as how rainbows form, which will be
led by a former chemistry teacher. These events will begin this fall.
