What has always amazed me about outdoor spaces is they are not discriminatory. Head to your local park at any given moment and you will find all demographics.

Nature has the power to bring us all together. The STEM Connection utilizes this power at Moore Road Farm and other educational sites to inspire all kids in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Their passion shows as they provide many options to learn from their experienced teachers and staff.

Our 5-year-old daughter attended their summer camp two months ago and she is still surprising us with information she learned. It is proof that their hands-on learning approach is truly educating our kids. We wanted this outside-of-the-classroom learning to continue throughout the year so we did some research on what else The STEM Connection offered. We were so thrilled about what we found that we had to share with you!

One of the easiest ways to participate in their programs is to attend STEM at Night and/or Family and Friends Hikes. STEM at Night is for Kindergarten- 5th graders. It is packed with hands- on learning activities at Moore Road Farm and includes Amore cheese pizza!

Family and Friend Hikes are a great way to get the entire family connected to nature as you explore the diverse ecosystems at Moore Road Farm. These are held once a month with something new to learn every time as the seasons change!

The STEM Connection also reaches out to scouts, educators and parents through Scout Hikes, Field Trips and After-school programs. They have helped schools start STEM Challenge Clubs- seriously how cool!?! You can help bring these programs to your scouts and schools by emailing the director, Vera VanderKooy at: vvanderkooy@thestemconnection.org.

There is truly something for everyone at The STEM Connection. Let their staff helps you make the most out of your nature exploration.
